The Chibok Girl Ambassadors prepare to march in Abuja
Events are being held around the world today on the anniversary of the abduction of more than 200 Nigerian girls from their school in Chibok.
In the capital Abuja, 219 girls took part in a procession to mark the number of girls still missing after being taken by Boko Haram on April 14, 2014.
#BringBackOurGirls is trending on Twitter across the world as prayers, vigils and marches are held in many countries including the United Kingdom, Australia, Italy, New Zealand, Norway, France, Belgium, Switzerland and Chile.
A World at School has released a video today to mark the anniversary and to 鈥 which are at their worst levels for 40 years. You can watch it here.
A 鈥 released on the eve of the anniversary 鈥 has revealed that 800,000 children have been forced to flee from Boko Haram鈥檚 campaign of violence in northeast Nigeria. And an Amnesty International report says since the start of 2014.
Here is a flavour of what is happening today to mark one year since the awful events at the Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok 鈥 when 219 girls were abducted just because they wanted an education. We will be adding tweets and pictures as events are held.
