The Education Emergency: two panels in London and Cambridge link up
Today in London and Cambridge, two panels made up of a diverse group of women were on stage to discuss the 鈥楨ducation Emergency鈥� facing girls in the UK and聽worldwide.
Chaired by sa国际传媒鈥檚 Christianne Cavaliere, the London panel was made up by Pakistani activist Baela Raza Jamil, 聽Global Youth Ambassador for A World at School Francesca Danmole, Mulberry School for Girl鈥檚聽Vanessa Ogden and 聽Maria Amrin, and Standard Chartered鈥檚 Payal Dalal.
In Cambridge, Dame Barbara Stocking chaired a panel made up of聽Professor of International Education Pauline Rose, Malala Yousafzai鈥檚 former teacher Mariam Khalique, Zoah Hedges-Stocks from the Showman Traveller community聽and Lucy Lake with special guest Fatima Yakubu from Camfed.
They addressed the following fundamental questions:
- What difference does education make to lives worldwide?
- What are the impacts on women and girls of education being unavailable, inaccessible or actively denied?
- What policy options might be effective in securing the right to safe and quality education for all around the globe?
